Jake,
   You are right in that there are those who have no
clue as to reality, I am a professional diver, and I
see them all the time. The blatantly stupid, the
slightly insane, and those who just do not know
better. I always try to discourage them from obvious
folly. Otherwise, I may well be the one called to
recover their bodies. I have before, and, I'm sure I
will again. However, and this is my point in it's
entirety, just blowing them off without taking the
time and effort to at least try to show them the
downside of the idea in question is the single best
way to insure they will die from that idea. It is
selfish, and irresponsible not to discuss things, and
tell them why it is a a bad idea, and help them
understand they WILL die if they pursue it. I will not
even go into the reverse liability issue. Just know
that it saves no liability to send them off on their
own after they come and say, "Hey ya'll, watch this!".
(The famous last words of a redneck...)
   Anyway, I am not often involved in this discussion
group, mostly just reading, so I can't tell anyone to
or not to do anything.  This is just my two cents
worth.
