Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Minn Kota Motors
You need to heat the connection (propane torch) to free the locktight used in the connection.
(use caution to not overheat and fry the inside of the motor)
Next re-tap the existing 1-20 straight treaded opening to a 3/4-14 NPT
(National Pipe Tap), you'll need to take apart the motor before you
machine it.
While the motor is apart, replace the existing wires with
a multi-conductor watertight cable.
Last reassemble the motor using a cord grip to seal around the cable.
I'm now going to take this opportunity to mention,
that I can perform these steps for a moderate fee.
With the addition of adding oil for pressure compinsation.
I already have all the tools/materials/cables/cordgrips/ect.
Call or email me if interested.
