I'd look for other reasons why you may have experienced a 25% RPM drop. One
possibility: maybe the brushes were partially "hydroplaning" over the
armature, causing a poor contact: enough to reduce power, but not enough to
stop it from working altogether. Properly set up, oil-filled Minn Kota's
don't lose much RPM at all.
