lol ... i don't know about cooking ... 
but it does work for motors ... 
the oil I use is a dielectric oil that is used in transformers
Its just happens to be biodegradable and additionaly it doesn't
go ranced after time.
Some oils will go rancid after several months of use
so when you go to replace the oil after a several years...pe-ewe

as to the sorce ... thats me ... i sell it all ready in the motors.
