RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Underwater Camera
Martin,
This is a late reply but you are involved with a similar project as myself.
You may find the following book useful: Model Submarine Design by Norbert
Brüggen ISBN: 1 900371 04 9
This book deals mainly with the building of scale model submarines, however
the basic principles involved are vary useful. There are some diagrams and
calculations which you may find helpful. The author also reviews a range of
everyday materials which you could use for your pressure hull.
Hope this helps, e-mail me if you want someone to bounce ideas off, I feel
like I have reinvented the wheel but as least I have learnt a thing or two!
Harry

Subject: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Underwater Camera
Good morning.
I am very new at this, and am certainly only in the research phase at the
moment.
I am looking to build a remote control underwater camera. Essentially. it
would only be manned from the surface. I have no problem with it having a
tether, as oppose to wireless, and I think I would prefer having
batteries/power source and all other hardware at the surface. I would also
like (just as a matter of personal preference) build it from everyday
materials, stuff found at Home Depot, hardware stuff, etc...
I am wondering if anyone has taken on a similar project, and has
notes/designs/comments or else to share with me. I have seen what some of
the members in this group have built, and I am certainly not looking for
something that elaborate. (Not for this time around anyways)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Martin Menard
