[PSUBS-MAILIST] list signup concerns

Shipmates,

I checked the majordomo logs and indeed on May 12 there are four
attempts by "Captain Nemo" to join the list which failed due to
invalid host addresses being defined in the request to join.

vulcania@hawaii.rr.com=20
vulcania@hawaii.rr.com=3D20=20
vulcania@hawaii.rr.com=3D3D20=3D20=20
vulcania@hawaii.rr.com3D3D20=3D3D20=3D20 =

It appears that some type of control characters are being included after
the "com" top level domain, so majordomo rejected the requests because
it could not validate the domain as being authentic.

Capt. Nemo did however successfully join the list May 12 06:23:17, but
it appears his messages may be getting rejected because his server
utilizes x.400 mail headers. Majordomo will not allow incoming mail
with x.400 headers because they can apparently be used to manipulate
majordomo config files. While this is unfortunate, server security
comes first, so anyone utilizing x.400 headers will need to find an
alternate email server for their originating messages.
