Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Convention: OMSI USS Blueback tour and other questions

Well I'd enjoy a night aboard a sub whether it was at sea er not.  And it would save me the trouble of having to reserve a hotel in a town I'd never been to.  But this attraction IS aimed for young students, maybe we could get them to switch the movie out for a case of beer in the galley?  I believe spending the night with the lot of you would be the highlight of this convention.  I vote for a night aboard the USS Blueback.

I have no sub to bring, no SCUBA experience, and I live too far away to do any footwork for the convention, but if I can help, let me know.  By the way, I may be a little worse for the wear, but I WILL be there.

So what do you guys think? Anyone interested in being a kid for an evening and sleeping over on a real WWII sub? One of the requirements of being an adult should be to try and be a kid at least on special ocassions. For me it would be a kind of time warp of sorts. I haven't slept on a sub, but spent some time aboard ship, the Okinawa and Vancouver when I was a U. S. Marine off the coast of Nam. Maybe they could use a 52 year old chaperone, with asperations of building / piloting his own psub.
Thanks Matthew, David
