Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] sub bouyancy

Ray,
I know that kittridge subs does not recommend using propane tanks and actually I think they don't even like the whole idea of them, but what my thought was that if you bought plans, for example the one's that kittredge sells, it would give you a lot of good ideas while you're building your sub. I was just wondering if there were any other plans out there that would be just as benefitial as the kittredge one's would be. And I believe the reason why they don't recommmend them, if I can remember co
rrectly, is because you did not know what exactly the steel quality was. In my case, I only plan to go to about 100 ft. So I don't even think that I would even have to worry about putting reinforcing ribs in.

Hi,

Kittredge does NOT recommend using propane tanks. Fabricating a hull from

plate steel really isn't that much more expensive and saves you having
to cut the propane tank in half to get the ribs inside.

e boat as you Bill, I am also planning to build a sub out of a
propane tank, but does anyone know of who has plans for such a thing beside the
kittredge subs. Would those plans even work?
