Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] link

I'm glad P-subbers are getting this kind of attention.

I notice the artical says that you (John and Monica) are planning to sink
the finished sub to 500 feet, unmanned, for a 350 foot sub. Very smart
move!!! I know from experience that when you do this, it will give you
incredible peace of mind!

When you actually go down that deep, you will be watching your depth gauge
intently. Since you know that the sub has already survived 500 feet, when
the gauge says 350 feet it will mean nothing in terms of safety (Gary
Boucher might have somthing to say about that, he used to be the psubs
"safety inspector" a few years ago).

I dove in my first sub before I tested it. Even though it was freezing
cold, there was a waterfall pouring off my face, because I knew it had never
been that deep before. When I hit 100 feet, I expected the viewport to hit
me in the face any second! SCAAARY!!! Believe me, it is very benificial to
test your sub beyond the crush depth, just so you dont have to go through
that.

I was curious where you are planning to sink to 500 feet, considering your
lake is not that deep?
