Respectfully disagree -
Billboards aren't designed to compete with blue sky, they are competing for
your attention with the other distractions on the road. That's why there are
usually no more than only seven words in the slogan and the graphics are
bold and eye-catching. And outdoor boards are 20 X 30 feet.
The numbers on license plates are very wide so as to be visible from a
distance. Look the old plates from Michigan or the old California plates.
They are/were much more readable than the new ones even with wide numerals.
The lines I see on the white proof are too narrow to be seen from much more
than a carlength. Try printing one out, tape it on your car and step back 20
feet. If the group decides to go with a white background. The lines need to
be much wider to be seen.
