Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Re: CSSX1

Hi Jon - the diesel engine will use about 11 liters of fuel I think.
If I fill the softanks with fuel and of course the diesel tank
we have 10 m3 volume softanks equal of 10.000 Liter Diesel and
about 1000 liters in the fuel tank.
So the boat runs 11.000/11 = 1000 hours with about 8 knots,
or in other words 8000 seamiles.

Porto Harbour at Portugal - were I can jump quick over the Channel
is about 3600 seamiles from New York ..
>From my place to Porto is about 1800 seamiles, so all
together is 5400 seamiles - will work but ..
5400 / by 8 knots are 675 hours/ 24 = 28 Days one way without
a stop.. 28 days in a rolling, jumping steel drum with a
running diesel engine seems okay for me - I like the sound..
..but we have here just only 6 weeks holidays a year = 42 days
- so how runs the boat back from the convention ? ..

675 hours two times with 11 Liters are = 14850 liter fuel
each about 0,7 dollar = ca. 10.000 Dollar fuel cost.. and
USA is allways a problem for foreign submarines - my sub is not
armed..

Some history - The first submarine crossing alone the Atlantic
(from Bremen, Germany to USA) was U-Deutschland with a cargo of
medicine in early world war one. It was also not armed..
