Hi Everybody:

My name is Jack Skoda.  In the fall, I'm going to start work on a Master
degree in history of military science and technology.  My focus will be on
the submarine.  

 Has anyone on the list ever tried re-creating a primitive sub?
Something along the lines of Fulton's Nautilus or the CSS Hunley?
Most, if not all, of the info I've browsed so far talks about
modern components and equipment.  I believe my thesis paper will
be stronger if accompanied with a working model of a sail, muscle,
or steam drive sub.

Anyone have any good book pointers to primitive sub design?
