Mike,

I'm in Florida and went through the registration issues with the state 
government and apparently they can count quite well when it comes to taking 
in money. They insisted I get and pay for the registration of my sub 
including the need to display registration numbers. The criteria was if it 
could be used for transportation, apparently if it can move you over any 
distance under any power, currents, wind or the thermal agitation of water 
molecules you have to register it in this great state.

It was interesting when it came down to the manufacturer and where the 
materials were bought. When I said my garage they were puzzled.

I actually got a call from our state government. The fees were small, about 
$12.
