One thing that my Dad found while searching the net was a tank for cars that 
could hold enough hydrogen to go 3000 miles (about 4827 kilometers--feel free 
to check my math) before it ran out of fuel. It could also handle a blast of 
dynamite and still meet or exceed appropriate safety standards.
The great thing about this is that I don't think it took any super-special 
materials--it was made from wound carbon fibers and probaby bonded using 
epoxy.

I'll see if I can get more information it.
