News from the world of "trying to get this
sub in the water" by dale.
After several setbacks, I have finally, for the
last time I think possibly, might be ready to , perhaps, mabie......aaawww
crap..
I have finished the construction of the sub,(
mabie someone can tell me, are we ever finished building these
things??) and all I have to do, is hang some weights on it..and it's
ready to go..( I still think I am finished, weights dont count do they??) it
holds a vacuum, and a slight pressure.. I can survive in it for over 1 hr,
with no headaches or anything..(1 hr and 5 min, 34 sec to be exact) , I have no
air leaks, and therefore figure it might not leak too much water.. and It weighs
1780 lbs..I have tested the pressure compensation system again, and again, and
again (only on land though) and it works as I planned, I found out the paint
chipps off when you drop it off of a trailor..(nuts), and I have found out that
October is sometimes cold in Alberta, and that water gets a hard surface on it
when it gets cold..It was suggested that we drop it from higher, and that might
get it into the water, through the hard surface, but I think I will see if
the ice melts first.. We are supposed to be getting a warm spell, and if the ice
dissapears, Ill launch.. otherwise, it will be next spring now.. Ill post some
pics of the finished product soon..
thanks for all the support through out all of
this from everyone..
dale.
