Hi Guys,
Just got back from a month in Australia, it was hell, the Olympics and up
the coast to Cairns which is in the tropics by the Coral sea.
I visited an Aussie ex-military sub in a maritime museum in Sydney, spent
about two hours inside and got a few photo's. Learnt heaps just from looking
around.
Count me in as seriously interested in going to a PSUBS convention Ray.
Just took me an hour or two to read all the emails of the last month, sure
are pastionate about some of our ideas aren't we ! :-) All the same,
generally informative and sometimes amusing reading.
I'm still working on ideas on how to build a sub and not be broke at the end
of it.
Saw a small boat hire business in Cairns I really liked, that would give me
a good income and spare time to build a sub. Of course to have a sub
operating out of Cairns on the Great Barrier reef would be ideal as well.
Commercial operation of a tourist sub in this location ? Someone tried
recently to get permission but was turned down by the authorites
apparently...Sounds like Tom Clancy's wife doesn't it "No you can't play in
a submarine!"
Regards,
Karl.
