RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] PSub convention 2001
Ok Folks,
We have talked about a convention for years. Let's get serious. Let's
do it. Until someone else voluteers, I'll drive.
As we hone in on the details anything with a "*" is still subject
for discusion.
The "Lectures" are blocks of time for lectures, slide shows, hands on,
going to the parking lot and seeing subs.... whatever. There will be
10 minute breaks between Lectures.
I need voluteers and ideas for the lectures. We probably will need at
least one on safety.
We need someone local to Vancouver who can find a conference center
of some kind. Just to find out the costs at this point. Plan on
10 - 20 people. Wade? Phil? We need the information by 09 Oct 2000.
Also we need a local to Vancouver who will hit the travel advisor
to find what the local sights, parks, musuems are there. Wade? Phil?
We need the information by 09 Oct 2000.
We will talk about money later. Each of us will have to pay for our
own travel, motel/hotel and most food. There will be a fee
for the conference itself that will cover Conference rooms, lunches, tours
and the Dinner/Dance.
For now we will work the details on this forum. Then as the details
muliply and get minute we can go to direct e-mails and phone calls.

Who: Any intersted PSUBer that can get there. The SO'ers too (we will
plan on a dinner/dance). Families welcome.
What: 1st Annual PSUBers Convention (next one in Florida)
Where: Vancouver, BC, Canada
Why: To meet, learn, lecture, touch, feel and crawl inside real PSUBS.
See wares of any distributors for PSUB related/usable items who
show up. If nothing else, we can see "20,000 Leagues Under the
Sea" as a group.
*When: August 23 -25, 2001 (Thursday - Saturday)

Check into one of a couple of motel/hotel located close
to each other

9-12 *Meet at a conference center in a hotel/Phil's shop/
someone's house.....

1-4 Continue conference

4-6 Decompression time - break until Dinner
6-9 Dinner - Dance

Could be all day at one place or just a few hours at on
place and most of the other time at another. Up for
discussion.
