[PSUBS-MAILIST] Pipe vs. sand casted PH?

I've now got a supplier of pipe (http://www.labargepipe.com) - thanks D.
Blake - and they have the sizes I'm looking for, but I've recently found
a person that does sand-casted pressure pipes mainly for the military,
all custom.

My concern is in the integrity of the finished pipe (to be used as the
main pressure hull, of course). A sand-casted custom pipe would be
great- made exactly to spec, and more importantly, no seam. But what are
the disadvantages? I'm not all that familiar with his methods, and
maybe I should do a little more research, but first- is there a
difference in steel which has been poured to shape and that which has
been made into a pipe?

Which is stronger and how? Ie. Is there enough difference in strength
and stability that I should choose one over the other for the pressure
hull?
