Dale, You won't need brakes. Mine runs 3300 and that wants a little extra friction sometimes, although my old Bronco II didn't really seem to care one way or the other and always stopped when I asked it to. These days, I've got an ABS equipped Explorer, and the sub trailer still doesn't have any brakes. Wish me luck. Vance
