Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Re: high speed subs

High speed or not, is not the question to ask , but how do we navigate on a
shalow area?,
we know for a fact that the canions between groups of coral are mostly sandy
patches, it will be absurd to speed trough shalow waters risking a
collision unless we are escaping or chasing something,

in open waters, we take advantaje of any diferences of temperature on the
sea column that change the density of sea water and create boundary currents
which could mean a saving in energy or a much smother ride, the first 150
foot of water column presents a lot of challenges of this sort, it is very
dificult to stop a vessel at any speed more than six knots, and even rovs
bounce accidentally again the underwater structures at less speed. we can
only anticipate our route and the most obstacles the less concern for
speed.

just an opinion.
