"So you have a video? When you are done updating it what would it take for
me to get a copy?

Hi Ray (and all),

Yes, I made a documentary entitled NAUTILUS MINISUB back in 1991; it was 2
hours, color, VHS format, and showed how the sub was built and tested. I
made maybe a dozen copies; gave most of them to family and friends; have
some laying around the house still; but never marketed it. I always felt it
was a "kind of corny", a bit lengthy in some spots, and needed better
editing. (Still, if one was interested in learning how the NAUTILUS MINISUB
came about, it did a good job of that.)

Anyway, right now I'm re-editing the Master; should be between 1-1/2 to 2
hours with professional-quality titling, special effects, music and such;
hope to have it finished before March. I was planning on setting the price
at $25 plus postage for the VHS tape, label, protective plastic case, and
padded shipping envelope.

I'd give them away if I could; but considering my investment, I just can't
afford to do that. Still, I'm hoping that the information presented, and
the novelty of the subject, will make this a product people interested in
small subs will find valuable.

I thought $25 was fair considering that similar but shorter (1 hour) videos
sell for $20 on the Sub Committee website; but I'd like to hear opinions
from the PSUBS membership on this point. (EVERYONE PLEASE REPLY; AND DON'T
BE SHY! TELL IT LIKE YOU SEE IT; YOUR OPINION IS IMPORTANT TO ME. THANK
YOU!)

I haven't advertised the NAUTILUS MINISUB VIDEO on any of the websites that
feature my sub yet; only spoken to people about it via email. All I can do
is put people's name on the waiting list at this time. I'm not accepting
pre-payments because I'm not sure when it will be available.

Once the video is ready, I'm going to put up my own website about
submarines, and it will be mentioned there. I'm not going to announce it
as available until the first 100 copies are produced, and my waiting list is
taken care of. I'll try to keep about two dozen copies in stock at all
times, and if I can maintain that surplus, turn-around time will be 24
hours. If I can't, turn-around time should still be inside of a week.

NEW BUSINESS: I also have two other submarine-related videos in progress;
and when they are finished, I'll be announcing them on my website as well.
(I'll also mention them here at PSUBS, if you folks are interested.)
Barring production difficulties, the first of these will be ready in May or
June; and the second some time after that, when the new sub projects I'm
presently working on are ready for disclosure.

Of course, my website will feature links to PSUBS and other sub-related
sites and sources on the net. I hope you'll all visit and find it both
interesting and valuable to your sub design / construction endeavors.

Very best regards,

Pat Regan
