I,m in New Jersey, 6 blocks from the bay.  I won't vouch for the visibility
there but the Atlantic Ocean is just a little farther east.  On Sandy Hook there
is the Marine Academy of Science and Technology, a public specialty High School,
very competitive for admission. If we could put together a presentation of subs
and sub lore we might try to sell the idea to them, or another group(s).  Some
sponsorship could help make the convention happen, provide more focus, maybe
funds.

Other organizations in the immediate area include:

The U.S.C.G. has a base on Sandy Hook, near M.A.S.T.

High Tech High School, meets at Brookdale Community College, Lincroft, NJ

Naval Weapons Station Earle, a few miles west is their mile long dock.  (No
paint ball here though)

Save The Bay.
&
Clean Ocean Action (These two are environmental groups working to stop sludge
dumping offshore)

There is also a large boating community, annual boat shows in Asbury Park and
Atlantic City, ( not to mention New York City, a little north of here.)
