Carsten, you are welcome to display pictures of Freja on the psub site.
I have Freja at the workshop just now and minutes ago I finaly completed
the upgrade of the boats electrical systems.
Status 45 minutes ago was that the rudder machine, the autopilot, Sonar,
GPS, diveplane servo machine, bow thruster and main contact was all
operation along with the e-machine controller.
44 minutes ago I opened the electrical box, to fine adjust the
controllers ramp times, and Buumm it went dead. I have no answers,
I dont know any who have, and I am pissed off. Basically I will rip
the thing out of my boat in replace it with one big wire,
resulting in a system that only has full forward, zero, and full
backward capacity.
In the past days I have been working hard on wiring, connecting relays
and joysticks, and the result is charming.
The boat is steared with an autopilot. This device can be overruled by
pressing a starbord and port knob. If activated it simply keeps the boat
on course using a fluxgate magnetometer. Nice for submerged navigation.
At surface it can get signals from the GPS, and follow a preset waypoint
route. The autopilot controls only the rudder.
The boat can also be turned by the one and only thruster, placed
transverse at the bow. The thuster is operated by the joystic transverse
direction.
The joystic longitudial movement controls the diveplanes, that has been
extended as you surgested.
In a week I will be back in the water for open sea testing....!
Best regards, Peter

Curently the boat is fully operational, having made
its last dive on october 26th, the day it was put
back on shore ( and for that matter she dived
three times that day, and one time the day
before, no problems, and happy passengers!
The adventures involved sailing around the
harbor on diesel at 2.5 knots, its max speed. )
Freya has a GPS map plotter, and a phased array sonar,
autopilot, radio (VHF) at a total cost of about 5000 euro,
and the boat itself is in the same range, DONT forget
its EXPERIMENTAL, meening things are not as pollished
and functional as in a mercedes automobile...
