Like many of you, I am deeply saddened by Brian’s passing.
Although I only met him in person once in Vancouver, we maintained an online friendship that lasted years.
He was generous, thoughtful and very kind.
My condolences to his family.
His participation here will be missed!
He grabbed his dream and made it a reality.
God speed indeed Brian!

When he opened up to me about it a month ago he was still seeking any possible treatment that could help (including Traditional Chinese Medicine). It was just this past week that he could see the end was in sight and asked me in a text to write to all of you. That night as I was getting ready to make the announcement I saw that he had done it himself.

It would seem apparent that when Brian made his last post here on the list he was either unaware of the severity of his illness or he intentionally omitted the advanced stage of his illness in an effort to spare us the emotional turmoil of his grim prognosis. Either way, his departure leaves an irreparable hole in the fabric of our tight-knit community. We build submersibles with the goal of exploring the unknown below us and now our friend Brian explores the unknown beyond us. God speed Brian... gone but never forgotten. ~ Douglas Suhr
