[PSUBS-MAILIST] Noise filter needed?

Title says it all. My Minn Kota 36V rear thruster came with an after market filter attached. I removed it, but since I'm installing a higher quality sonar debating putting it back on as I'm redoing the wiring harness. Anyone found the need to put one on the motor?  Thanks.
