Saltwater batteries have been known for a long time - they are routinely 
used for signals for shipwreck survivors, for obvious reasons. For 
almost equally obvious reasons, they are not used for anything else, as 
they are horrendously inefficient (less than 400 km range from a 200 
lite3r tank) and expensive to replace.
