[PSUBS-MAILIST] BQR-2 transducer stave

Has anyone used these for passive listening? I tried one on a paper chart
depth sounder as a side scan fish.  Results were mixed with only one trial
in one of our local lakes, Pine Flat east of Fresno, CA.

 I was in the Navy in 1965-67 and talked with a sonarman. He said they
could track a merchant ship at 10,000 yards, no problem. This was on the
older Diesel boats.
