I'm not clued up on sonar, but I remember reading that G.L. requires a downward & forward looking
sonar. Certainly the forward looking sonar would be useful for collision avoidance in low vis conditions.

Alan,
From what I can find so far, the diver equip does not have near the range.  If the figures are true with my radio's, my wife can sit on the dock and read her book and check in with me from time to time.
