The Dreamers Revenge:
SUBMARINE - "The Dreamer's Revenge" is a fully fuctional, two-man
submarine. DESIGNED AND BUILT by Ron Managhan, completed in 1992,
this submarine is a one-of-a-kind. Most of the sub's components are
"off the shelf" and are easily obtainable. The sub's outside
dimensions are 4'diameter by 11' long. It weighs approximately
6500 lbs. It's nine windows have a 10" diameter and are 1-1/2"
thick, providing good visibility. This two-man submarine has a
3/16" steel plate outer hull with 3"x3"x1/4" rolled angle iron
ribs. Operational dive capacity is 100'. Very maneuverable, it
cruises at around walking speed. Conveniently launches off its own
good quality tamdem axel trailer (included) like a boat. Also
included is a two-stage, gas powered air compressor for filling
ballast-blowing tanks. Also included are lead weights. Submarine
has been sitting for 5 years. It will require 4 new deep cell
batteries, windows resealed, and paint. This maintenance should be
quite easily done by most people. Around 150 successful dives up to
100' have been performed from 1992 to 1994.
