It is good to have another member on the group with another operating
one-atmosphere sub. Congratulations on your success building and
operating the Kittredge K-350!
I agree, internal batteries can be very dangerous if not
monitored and maintained. I use a three tiered system to deal
with hydrogen gas on my sub. I am a firm believer in venting,
Hydro-Caps, and continuous monitoring of the hydrogen gas
percentage. The Hydro-Caps are a few extra bucks, but well worth
it. On the battery note, it is hard to beat the Trojan 6V deep cycle
batteries.
