Re: Concrete subs?



Back to basics. Concrete is wonderful in compression, but sucks in tension.
Steel reinforcement is added to concrete structures to carry the tensile
load.  Steel and concrete have darn near identical coefficients of thermal
expansion. A match made in heaven, like liver and onions, or Simon and
Garfunkel.
