I FOUND THEM! DIRECTIONAL THRUSTERS

Off the shelf trolling motors for $ 225.00
I called a friend of mine, Doug Previtt, owner of the delta sub which
maybe you have seen on tv, his sub dove and photographed the wreck of the
Lusitainia which was made into a tv documentary.
Anyway, he told me to get a hold of a friend of his, don, owner of
Undersea Graphics
he owns a sub called the "Snooper" which was in a movie with David
Carridean called "Gray lady down" He has retired this sub and has built a
new one. He went through the whole directional thrusters thing and
decided to try an evinrude 24v 36 pound thrust trolling motor and It
worked great !!!
He has been using it for a few years and the only problem he has run
across is the prop would get a little wear after a while and he would
just put a new one on to avoid shearing the pin...
he said all you have to do is buy it, take the shaft that runs up to the
speed control electronics housing off, over size the hole, tap it, and
put an elec. through hull in, running the two wires into the sub and to
your power on and reversing switches.
And thats it.

how deep has he had it ?... 700 ft.
Sounds like a good way to go.
