Sub Photo Upload

Ray,

I am today uploading to your work address photos of 3 personal subs
(subs that are small enough to be considered personnal).

They are :

1) The Dennoch
This was built by some students at Stanford. It is a two man midget
(1 ATM) that is rated for 400 feet. According to the plate, it
has been tested (live) down to 100 feet in Lake Tahoe. I have full
text of the plate, and can submit it upon request.
This is a small sub that seems to me to be quite simple in design...
i.e. just the basics. This sub was on display near the
WWII sub museum near Fisherman's Warf several years ago. I do not
think it is still there. Ray?

2) The UFI BEANIE 1.
This sub was seen in the Key Largo marina near the Key Largo Holiday
Inn (in 1991 or so). I have about 50 photos of this thing.
I do not know where this vessel is now (anyone ever seen or heard of
it?). This sub has LANDING GEAR! It has a hatch on the bottom
There are three seperate sections to the hull with interior doors
that allow you to move from the forward control room, to the middle
"diving room", then to the aft D/E engine room. The middle section
doors can be closed and the room filled to pressure, then the
lower hatch opened for divers after it "lands" on the ocean floor!
There are 3 prop shafts. Two side ones for electric motors, and
one lower center one for the diesel. Its about 6 feet in diameter
and maybe 35 feet long? It even has fold-up bow planes to prevent
    damage will in rough seas.

3) The SUB NICOLAS (Helsinki).
I know very little about this one, other than the fact that it was
at the same Key Largo marina (the UFI BEANIE 1 may no longer
be there). This looks like a more of a small tourist type of sub.

The sad part of all this is that I personally have not seen any of these
in person. Some VERY kind friends went out of their way to
to satisfy my obsession to have these photos. Thanks to : Rick, Vidal,
Dave, and Doug!

Realizing that Ray is in England, I am not sure if he will be able to
put these on the web site for a while (plus he will need to review them
to determine if it is worth doing so).

I anyone knows the current where-abouts or other information regarding
these subs, please let us all know.
Thanks!

Brian Danielson
