Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Controller/Display

Hi Alan,

The one I bought only has two potentiometers. I had considered getting the 3-D (3 potentiometer) version but it was an extra ten dollars and frankly I didn't know what I would do with the third potentiometer, at least in the immediate future. I did like the larger diameter stick on however. I don't know about an AUV, my electronic skill set is about as competent as a 5-year old. The Arduino microprocessor makes a project like this possible for folks like me because there are many sensors that interact with it easily and there are many examples and tutorials available that do a good job of explaining how to piece it together. I was on the fence about trying to put together a solid state inertial depth sensor using an accelerometer but decided to leave that one for Ian Roxborough. I love the idea of it though, much cheaper than the "normal" pressure sensors out there, no thru-hull required, just gravity and motion. And there seems to be plenty of free gravity around.

That's a good buy Jon,
It's probably classed as semi- industrial.
Notice it's got a 3rd potentiometer that's operated by rotating the joy stick. Have you thought of making a deep diving AUV, you seem to have the skill set
there to do it.
