Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Kittredge Motor Housing help

That's for the saltwater 101s, 36 volt. I'd keep them all the same size, mate. It simplifies maintenance and replacement. Spares in the box fit anywhere then.

I need to talk with you about UI. Will and I have been working up the speaker list. I've got a goodly number of folks to call next week, and he said you wanted to hold a psubs meeting. That's okay, by the way. We can work up the space. Tickets are another issue, however. We don't think the committee will pass 'em out. Will's idea was to make the room available and those who are coming for the meeting(s) would pay their own way in (unless already assigned as speakers or whatever). I'm not certain about costs, but I think the package ticket is expensive. What do you think about this? How many customers would you project? And what would we do?

Vance,

That would be great and cheaper than purchasing one.  They are pretty expensive.  I'll keep checking around here to see if I can find one local.  I just need to locate a good industrial supply shop.

What size minn-kotas are $220 for the head only?  I know Jim was using 100lb thrust on Bionic Guppy, but don't recall how many he had on it.  The 600 is weighing in at 4500lbs so I'm thinking at least 1-100lb and 2-50lb thrusters if I were to change over.  If I did that I would fix-mount them though.

Jon,
I'll see if I can find a chain wrench and send it up to you. As for the Minn-Kota, you can buy the power head only, new in the box (with a prop) for about $220. Their small motor controllers (the ones that fit in the trolling motor steering head) are $125 apiece.
