Thought you fellows might enjoy this. The kids are in Snooper III, children of the owner/builder and both qualified to pilot. Later in the film, you see Snooper II in the kelp beds. Snooper III is operational this year after a long build, and Snooper II in semi-retirement until it can be overhauled. The intention is to have the new sub out making money, and the older one on stand-by for emergencies and contingencies and some of those other 'gencies.'
It's hard to see much detail, but III is built for 1000 feet (1/2" thick, with external ribs) and will generally be run by one, with room for two. She has some beautiful fiberglas work under those equally beautiful outer skins. Four main ballast tanks wrapped around from just under the top deck to about the midline and HP air and Oxygen stowed along the hull on the lower quadrants, all covered with the streamlined skin. The main motor turns a 32" prop. There is a horizontal thruster fore and aft, and a vertical in the bow. The pod is 22" OD if memory serves, and about 7 feet long. 48 volt primary system.
