Hi Rick,
The volume doesn't come into play with regard to
the amount of CO2
absorbant. It does come into play with regard to
the size of the scrubber fan.
My CO2 absorbant is sofnolime from "Molecular
products". If you email them
they have a program & will calculate for you
how many times per hour the
air needs to cycle through the scrubber, based on
your hull size, to maintain a
reasonable level of CO2.
I beleive a 80cm computer fan is sufficient (less
than $10-). There is info on
building scrubbers on the Psub site.
My absorbant lasts about 9 hours per
kilo.
Regards Alan

Correct, and the volume of the hull would not really
affect the calculation.

Isn't it about one liter per person per hour ?

I am building a K-350 and am trying to figure out
how many cubic feet of 02 I will need to have on board to support 2 people
for 72 hours. My hull ID is 36" and I am using a length of 7.5 feet long to
include the end caps.
The conning tower is 23" ID X 18" to include the
hatch. I came up with 57.32 cu ft. Is this correct and if so, can someone
tell me how many cu ft of 02 I would need to carry based on the average
aspiration rate of two people?
Thanks
