[PSUBS-MAILIST] inhibitors and poisons re: gas detectors...



Good advice. If your using electro-chemical sensors as opposed to IR than silicon is a concern, its a poison to a sensor and there is little chance of recovery. I once put a couple gas detectors that had a new rubber seal with some silicon and two days later the toxic gas sensors were throw-a-ways.

If you have the option and don't mind the extra cost go for an infrared C02 sensor they last much longer and are very accurate and reliable.
