[PSUBS-MAILIST] K350 Salvage concept...
Well its been quiet a few hours of revision.
The result is hosted at psubs:
http://www.psubs.org/projects/1280105118/reversionofdrawingsrev/
The difficult part to this concept has been working out how to create a
structure around the K350 that would be stand alone so that the
pilot/observer pressure vessel can be realised for their journey to the
surface in an emergency. Working on the surface condition of the center
pod.
I figure the chassis lateral section could be cast alluminum and the
various component parts and bracing stainless tig welded to the
alluminum.
There are six bounancy tanks, three in each wing. Forward there are
four, aft two. On the horizontal to the center of bounancy are two VBT
tanks port and starboard. The idea is to move water one to the other to
create banking so as to create a obit arrangement to circle an area of
interest.
Two motors, one under each wing turned inward 5 degrees for steerage. A
forward and aft plane, however perhaps there is need for an additional
motor which could be mounted along the center line on either the forward
or aft plane, or two as in both.
Pretty well scoped out the dimensions rule of thumb and need to do the
detailed maths but hopefully my first past is reasonable close to
approximaate dimensions.
The difficult part is going to control the elevators, air supply to
bounancy, motors etc which needs to take into account the emergency
release of the center pod. Thinking IR interface and two peep viewports
very close proximity to each other, no through hull just the one big
bolt at the bottom and four lateral pins to keep the pod in place.
Comments, id of any errors, and improvement suggests most welcomed.
Best regards to all.
Lawrie, Brisbane.
