Jon, I've known you long enough to not even consider that
particular "conspiracy theory." The things you have to put up with sometimes
are beyond ridiculous. Plus, some of the personalities who were there are
not exactly easy to cowe into submission, so you could be the most evil plotter
in the world and censorship would hold water for about 30
seconds. I just imagine this was some sort of group consensus, probably with all
the formality of a chat over beers after working all day on the recovery.
Personally I would have dissented, but I don't think for a moment
there was anything sinister about it. Don't sweat it, let's move on and get
some value from the experience. It's not a big deal, and the next
convention will probably be really well attended if people think they'll get
this much value for their money.
