[PSUBS-MAILIST] Viewport quandry

Hi All,
Those of you that have the type of viewports where there is a
bevel on the front edge of the acrylic and a o ring fits in there, and there
is also some type of gasket between the acrylic and the seat area, is it
possible to vary the position of the viewport by making the gasket material
thicker or not as thick? It may not be a big deal, but since I've never
actually done it I was wondering if I needed to fine tune the viewport
position just in case the thickness from the manufacturer was not exact, if
I could compensate by simply making the rear gasket thicker. That way I
could be sure that the front plane of the viewport was flush with the
viewport flange, since that O ring would be the primary seal it's critical
that it should be flush at that point.

thanks

Brian
