I learnt that one the hard way when I was a teenager... making fishing
sinkers at my dad's work... Don't let the tip of the oxy/acetylene torch dip
into the molten lead! :) doesn't go down so well either...

Be carefull with the lead pipes. If you catch an air or water bubble in the
pipe drop in the meltzing pot it tends to expolde. 
Small explosion of course but it takes week before your skin looks normal.. 
Use a strong hammer and drop the pipes flat before you melt them.
