Read the document and think of a large diameter DC motor with stationary
coils built along the inside of a submarine pressure hull itself, that is,
positioned immediately ahead of the aft hemisphere. Also, imagine the
flywheel effect and high torque as you slowly rotate a whole army of
moderate sized permanent magnets.
A large diameter propeller is then attached through a "gimbal/constant
velocity joint" arrangement on the outside shaft which enables you to
physically steer the rotating shaft with a Kort Nozzle both up/down and
port/starboard (as well as anything in between).
Something like the Swedish Navy Midget Sub I told you about awhile ago.
And please note that I am still working on getting some feedback from the
Swedish Navy on this.
The following has quite some family resemblance with my attempted
description above (although this one rotates the coils). It shows an image
