RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Acoustic Command unit

Andy thank you for the info I have been able to power the unit up and looks like it will function properly, now I need to find a transducer for it, and the transponder list in the unit list the following as selectable units,

ATR-396

ATR-395

UAB-353

EG&G-200

EG&G-300

EG&G-700

EG&G-8000

ATT-309

I believe I read somewhere that you could either have 4 or 8 transponders working at the same time I would love to find a manual for the unit I have sent Benthos a request maybe they will have one they can copy also do you know if you can use transponders other than the ones listed or maybe they have newer units that emulated one listed. Again thank you for your help

Datasonics got bought by benthos a long time ago.
Benthos was later bought by Teledyne....

They may be able to help.  They are pretty close to you I think, they are on cape cod.

I'm pretty sure they continue to sell derivatives of the the datasonics geophyiscal gear.  I'm not so sure about modems, transponders, and the like.

I'd be happy to take a look at it for you sometime, I'm in Rhode Island.  I am not an expert on that device, but pretty knowledgeable on underwater acoustic devices.

Hope that helps.
