AW: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Equador cocaine sub interior pictures

This kind of subs are not so incredible expensive it is calculated they cost around 1 mio dollar.  the load capcity is of some tons and if the stuffis delivered they get around 175 mio dollars.  This kind of vehicles are always discovered with help of an informat, most of the time somebody who believes he is underpaidor has a revenge with somebody.
A former drug lord in an interview gave some data around this kind of vessels and the efforts are to produce remote controled units.
This people is very inventive it is a pity they use their potential for such things.
Best wishes
Juergen

The sub itself maybe not. May 300.000 - 400.000 USD for the material.
But transport and logistic of all this stuff and material in the middle of nothing..
And feeding a stuff of 50 technicans and workers in the green nightmare.

The interior picture shows that they have maybe build it as develop version of the semi -subs.
Its from fiberglas, has just a compass and a echosounder and no other navigation aid.
The electric looks a really poor installation. Most of the equipment seems second hand.

The make a big mistake by cutting two frames away just under the sail.
Reduce the dive depth to nearly nothing - maybe 30 - 60 feet.
Also the pipe and valve work indicates a shallow diver.

I thing this unit run normaly on the surface with stick just the sail out - and in case of anythink comes over the horizont they dive and wait or drive slow. Maybe they have not to far away a fishing vessel or a pleasure yacht give him command via radio to dive if they see any vessel around.

They have two propellers - means redundancy if one drive fails. And space on board to take some repairs.
Its a self propulsion unit - so with two or three underwater direction microphons you can locate it.

Hopefully over the time we find some more interior picture of this sub - it is a intressting concept.

Its not a psub - because it seems a private build but with some commercial interesst..
