I think you have the perfect life, building submarines and high quality
tenders. Also you have great beer over there!  Thanks for the info.
That Steyr is a smart design.  We were working on a 6 cylinder Steyr about
15 years ago for CNG.  My friend was doing the conversion of diesel to spark
ignition.
That technology then went to china where they are making them.  I have not
heard about what has happened since but there is a lot of CNG (Erdgas) in
China now.

Ping.. The Steyr motors have what they call a monohead. 
Block and Cylinderhead are made from one piece cast- one unit. 
The engine is outfitted from the crankshaft. 
So there are no cylinderheadseal, no cylinderheadsbolts. 
One reason that the engine is such light. 
And has never problems with this parts.. 

There is one on the market with a integreate flywheel generator (IFG). 
The perfect plug and play set for a new high but expensive submarine. 
Very compact dieselectric design.
