I would guess this kit uses two standard voltage comparator ICs that
monitor some pre-defined voltage levels set by a simple resistor array...

Go ahead and buy it (unless they charge you $100 or so in shipping cost).

You will have to change the value of 7 or 8 resistors to suit your
application and light the proper LED according to the actual rudder
position you want to indicate with that particular LED.

If anything remains unclear, then simply send me a copy of the schematics
(when you get the kit), and I will sketch up the modifications required.
