[PSUBS-MAILIST] Convention Registration Now Open
Hello everyone,
I have opened registration for the 2010 convention and included an event
schedule with links to maps that show locations from the hotel. Here
are some important notes:
1) Except as noted in the registration section, meals and transportation
are the responsibility of each individual. We usually have plenty of
cars available for those who might need a local ride, but if you need
transportation from/to airports or other similar facilities make sure
you preplan.
2) For those new to the convention this year, we usually go out as a
group to local restaurants for lunch and dinner but pay individually.
Family members are welcome to join us for those meals.
3) Wednesday and Friday are set in stone and cannot be moved. We can
juggle the events of Thursday and Saturday as necessary.
4) Wednesday.
We will meet at the Bluewater Beach Bar & Grill just a short drive
straight down the road from the Sandhurst hotel, between 5pm and 8pm.
Some of us might even be there at 4pm. PSUBS will pay for appetizers
(wings, quesadillas, whatever you like) but you will need to pay for
your own beverages.
5) Thursday.
I've chosen thursday for dive day based upon the likelihood of less boat
traffic in the area. This may need to change based upon the
availability of resources, and if necessary we can change diving to
Saturday. High tide is at 1:06 on Thursday and 2:58pm on Saturday.
6) Friday.
We will be at Cobb's Landing (a restaurant) for speaker presentations.
This is expected to be an all day event with a lunch buffet included.
Our traditional "post-seminar" dinner will be immediately following at
the same location. We have a choice of simply staying in our conference
room for dinner (service will setup tables), or joining other people in
the main dining area of the restaurant. Meals will be from the regular
restaurant menu which can be viewed from the cobb's landing web site.
Family members who do not want to attend the seminar can still join us
for dinner afterwards.
7) Saturday.
The museum tour, public display, and dinner. If necessary we can move
the museum tour to Sunday morning at 10am. If we decide to change
diving to Saturday, then we'll move these events to Thursday.
8) Sunday.
A free day, possibly the UDT/SEAL museum tour early (they open at 10am).
I have not yet scheduled our Business Meeting for members. This might
have to done at night after dinner since it looks like our schedule is
going to be pretty full. I know some of you OLD guys like to get to bed
early, so we'll try to have coffee available to keep you awake. :)
Jon
