[PSUBS-MAILIST] stainless vs aluminum

Hey Frank, I'm looking at a number of brackets that I will be using to
secure components to my ferro structure. I can't decide between stainless
or aluminum. If I go a bit thicker on the aluminum I think it will equal
the strength of the stainless. The aluminum is easy to drill and cut, which
I like. The thing I am worried about the stainless it that where it is cut
it tends to not be so stainless, as apposed to the aluminum which seems to
hold up better in salt water. Do you weld aluminum? If I have to make up
some custom brackets then the welding of the stainless will be easier that
the aluminum. Any thoughts?

Brian
