I decided to refer to Capt. Kittredge's plans from that wonderful booklet I scanned. His was also 36" and I'm starting to see why its so common. It allows for pilot (and possible passengers) along with internal components: batteries, scrubbers, lights, lunch, sonar... Going to have to either re-design for 36" or add external battery pods, something I wanted to avoid... -----Original Message----- From: owner-personal_submersibles@psubs.org [mailto:owner-personal_submersibles@psubs.org] On Behalf Of Jon Wallace Sent: Thursday, May 06, 2010 13:33 To: personal_submersibles@psubs.org Subject: Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] pressure hull sizing 36 inch seems to be the most common size for a one person sub, unless you are targeting a Sgt. Right now its all theoretical placement using the dimensions of the components. My hull diameter is planned at 30", at this point I don't think it will be enough... > > Of the members of the K-Sub mafia, what size hull is more common for construction?
